Shawki Salem, Ph.D.

Founding Symbiance in 1990 with the simple goal of providing clear, precise and timely solutions for the data needs of clinical trial professionals, Dr. Salem is also the Biostatistics Division’s Senior Director. Having worked in the biostatistics field for almost 30 years at companies such as SmithKline, Schering-Plough, Ayerst Laboratories and Carter-Wallace, where he directed statistical analyses and database management, Dr. Salem brings a wealth of experience, practical knowledge and quality control to all aspects of Symbiance. With teaching positions at Temple University and Knox College, he is the presiding academic and quality compass at Symbiance. He has published a significant number of statistical technical papers over the past three decades and has made presentations of many statistically-based papers at the annual DIA and ASA meetings.
